Is it normal before the electric start of a motorcycle the neutral and oil lights are on? ?

I've just acquired an 06' 250 Kawasaki Ninja, and before I hit the electric start the oil light is on (as well as the neutral, of course). After I start it up and I shift to first gear to get going goes off. Is this normal? By the way, I'm trying to find the owner's manual for it, which is why I'm curious for now. I don't remember if the bikes at the MSF course were like this.Is it normal before the electric start of a motorcycle the neutral and oil lights are on? ?
Yes, It is normal. The reason the oil light is on is because there is no oil pressure while the engine is not running.

If you ever go to start your bike and the oil light is not on before you hit the electric start, do not ride the bike until the light is fixed. This light's entire reason to be is to alert you to a lack of oil pressure as you are riding down the road.

Never ride with the oil light on, never start with the oil light off.Is it normal before the electric start of a motorcycle the neutral and oil lights are on? ?
As you described this JML is correct - the lights should be on and should go immediately off the moment the engine starts running, if it stays on until you put into gear then it is staying on too late - it could be the sensor, but it might be a problem related to a delay in the oil pump.

As soon as it turns over the oil light should go out within a second or so of it running on its own.

So unless you are hitting the starter button and throwing it in gear immediately after it starts it sounds like your description is making it sound as if it is staying on too late.

It's good practice to depress the clutch while in neutral and then start the engine, wait a few minutes for it to warm up in neutral with the clutch handle out before pulling it in again and then putting it in gear - btw
Yes,

The neutral light should go out when you put the bike in gear, and the oil light should go out immediately after starting the bike.

As far as the MSF course is concerned they use Honda's mostly, but your bike will be fine when you complete the course.

Happy riding!
Yes, that is normal.
