Are motorcycle gearbox oil and engine oil interchangeable?

i have a cf moto v3. it's a 4 stroke engine but the gear box and engine oil are separate. the manual specifies 10w30 for both the engine and gear box. do i need gearbox specific oil or will 10w30 engine oil do the trick? Are motorcycle gearbox oil and engine oil interchangeable?
Well, that's very strange. Googling the images for it, it looks as though it has a standard CV transmission, as per any scooter - but for my scooter, they specify 80W/90 gear oil. (But then, it's 500cc, not 250, which might have something to do with it). However, if that's what the manual says, then 10W30 is 10W30; it's not differentiated between gearboxes and engines. Are motorcycle gearbox oil and engine oil interchangeable?
If it calls for 10w30, then engine oil is what you should use. 10w30 gear oil is nonexistent.
The gearbox oil and the engine oil are the same. Before doing anything I would ask a bike shop but I do know that when it is specified for cars that have 10-30 for the transmission, it uses engine oil. Many saabs and some hondas are that way.
Listen and listen carefully ....there is engine oil and there is gear oil, don't get them confused results could be expensive. your gear cluster should take a 80-90 wt oil and your motor should take 10 w 30 or 40 I use 20 w 50 or even straight 50 wt for an air cooled engine. Like I tell my friends when you get a new vehicle also get a factory manual, any questions you may have will be clarified in it and also may help you trouble shoot any foibles you may be having.
