Saudi king says oil should be $75 per barrel?

Except for greed, how can this statement be justified ?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081129/ap_o…Saudi king says oil should be $75 per barrel?
the way I can see it justified is to make up for lost profit, but thats not benefiting us.

at least he's not suggesting $147 again.

I can personally accept 75 fixed for a few years.

right now its only 54,

so 75 is only 39% more.

thats much better than 300% more as it was early this summer

I miss the days where gas was only 95 cents a gallon, but I think that really entices people to spend large amounts of gas (not just money) which causes more, unneedless amounts of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide.

America Does need to trim its excess vehicular usage and start focusing on alternative modes of travel and fueling, like the majority of the rest of world has already done.

honestly Americans have been very spoiled by their lifestyles involving their cars. most of the worlds population would consider our habits..... wasteful.

but thats no reason to gouge us with prices.... but maybe it will help us change for the better.

I love cheap gas, but do we need it? and what how can we change to make it an incentive and cheap do switch. We need to find better ways to instate options which have great results and already exist. Saving money is a great incentive.

oh, and I don't think obahma's going to personally help in saving us from our recession. the general market and its players understand action needs to be taken. soon, the walls will be let down on their own. There are too many players to expect 1 representative to make ';change';s.

do spend money. show the market they have nothing to fear.

buy the gas.Saudi king says oil should be $75 per barrel?
In today's market it should be around 75 dollars a barrel. You want lower fuel prices, look at your governments fuel duty, import tax, excise duties. In Saudi (granted, they produce, refine, and supply from within) the price of gasoline is less than a dollar a gallon. It's easy to blame the Arab.

He was also the one who all through the record price rises said it's not supply, they were supplying 1 million barrels per day more than what was being used, it was the speculators and profiteers on wall street and in London, who drove up the prices to ridiculous levels. You want to talk about greed, look in your own back yard.
OK, I can give you greed. The investors, executives, and speculators in oil and oil stocks; the entire industrialized economies reliant on oil, need to create their profits off the working class.

Our misery is their holiday. Hostage to the petroleum based economies, we must bleed to enjoy the responsibilities of alcohol and reckless driving related deaths on the roadways, ever increasing insurance premiums, and repair related labor rates that increase as often as the Federal Reserve pumps new fiat currency paper into the market.
Go with Brazil Ethanol for transition and one type of alternative fueled car, natural gas as another and hydrogen, and tell Saudi King to drink his whale oil. And it maybe time to shipwreck Currant US Auto Industry. The Executives take grants for prototype alternative cars build two bit model and invest rest in Exxon. Just give grants to new start up companies, and use half of fuel tax to deal with retired auto workers.
I feel that the price of something should be what ever supply and demand say it should be. If a lot of people demand it they should charge more when if the good is not demanded the price should be lower. This applies to everything and it shows that the principal is true.
And still our politicians refuse allow us to drill for our own oil. I wonder how much of that rise in oil prices will find it`s way into their pockets. Rome fell because of weak leaders, and it looks like so will we. God help America.
The price of oil should be at whatever the market determines dependent on supply and demand. Right now, that price is and should be around $50 a barrel.
It can't be justified something is only worth what some idiot is willing to pay for it. We have to find alternate means then they can try to sell sand.
F HIM....people please keep driving less and drive the price down to 20 a barrell.lol
FYI, most of the Saud Kings past or present are morons thus far... and don't expect morons to be logical...
