87 Nissan King cab Leaking Oil?

I have a '87 Nissan king cab truck which I bought brand new.I think I've taken good care of it.Changing the oil every 3000 mi. or sooner etc..It has 121,000 miles on it.A couple of years ago I started to see a drop or 2 of oill on my garage floor. It now seems to have increased where I'm seeing a lot more oil drops.Does anyone know what might be causing this?87 Nissan King cab Leaking Oil?
My 89 Nissan pickup with the Z24i leaked a bit of oil from the valve cover gasket after 200 000 miles. I replaced the valve cover gasket and the oil stopped dripping out. Does the block look oily and wet? If so you can easily change out the valve cover gasket for about $20. It could be the rear main seal like others have suggested. Do you change the oil drain plug gasket with every oil change? Get the truck on a lift or crawl underneath with a flash light and look for spots that are wet or oily.87 Nissan King cab Leaking Oil?
Get under and look.

Oil can leak from a lot of places, here are some popular places....

Oil Filter

Drain Plug

Rear Engine Seal

Oil Sensor

Valve Cover

Some are inexpensive to fix. Some it is less expensive to just keep adding oil.

You did nothing wrong with maintaining this vehicle. Oil finds its way out after years. Rubber seals dry up and the oil gets by them.

People drive for years and years with oil leaks.

Good luck!
The valve cover leaking down the back of the motor. Rubber gaskets get hard. Try tightening the #3 philips bolts they will be really loose. Just snug them a little. If you replace the gasket be careful with the plastic spark plug wire clips and get the half moon seal in the rear. Z-24 engines can have a variety of leaks.
YOU must have Z 24 engine check the oil drain plug or the rear main oil seal. old age not you made this happen not you.
