When do i oil change for my motorcycle?

I have suzuki gsxr 600 2007. i bought the bike used at mileage 6,500 all serviced. when do i do next oil change? When do i oil change for my motorcycle?
I change my oil and filter every 3000 miles. I use dino motorcycle oil, if I used synthetic oil I'd probably change every 5000.When do i oil change for my motorcycle?
The Owner's manual will have the service intervals and part numbers for oil, lube, plugs, air filter, everything. If you ride in an extremely dry or dusty area, I'd change the oil and air filter more often than the book says.

If you don't have the manual, contact your local Suzuki dealer about how to get one.
Yep,... do what the owner's manual says. Also, go ahead and invest in a service manual: its worth every penny. The certified Suzuki manual is expensive but is the best. Haynes puts one out for around $30. (the seller did not include O/M??) Generally petro based oil: 3K, synthetic: 5K. Remember that servicing your bike is more than just switching out oil %26amp; filter; its greasing pivot points, lube any cables, plugs, air box inspection/cleaning.....like the instructor said, its a total care thing.

You take care of that machine, and it will take care of you...
Spring and Autumn or every 3000 - 4000 miles, which ever comes soonest.
I change mine every 2500 miles, but that's with an oil filter.

Without a filter, I'd do it more often.
It's good to change it every 3,000 miles
after 1000 km-1700km

  • Why is my motorcycle spitting out all the oil?

I know there s a major problem, just not sure what it is. txWhy is my motorcycle spitting out all the oil?
Oh who knows, so I'll just tell you about my 1985 Yamaha Virago 700.

My Yamaha Virago loses oil from three places.

    1. From the rear cylinder rear valve adjuster cover. I could fix that with a new O-ring.

    2. From the left side of the engine. This is caused by the left side engine gasket being installed improperly. That's beyond my expertise to fix, and beyond my budget to want to, but basically the left side of the engine would have to be taken off, the surfaces polished, and a new gasket installed.

    3. From a stripped hex-screw mount that holds the engine together. I can't fix that. I could probably whittle a piece of tire rubber to fit in the hole, though. Might help. Might not.Why is my motorcycle spitting out all the oil?
What year and model of motorcycle? where's the oil coming from? Upper half or lower half? Left or right side? Front or back?

Could be something as simple as a leaky gasket between the side case and the block or something as complex as a cracked head. We'll need more info to get you a decent response
    Split / Broken Gasket.

You can use gasket sealant on the place it's spitting it out, it'll hold ok for a cheap quick fix.

Or take apart the place where it's spitting and put a proper gasket on.
Check your oil lines - oil filter is tight - the oil tank for holes - plus all the gaskets with spray talc.
I hate to use all caps, but since you didn't respond to Daniel's answer, I'm going to ask. WHERE IS THE OIL COMING FROM?

We can't identify the problem unless we know all the information.
possible cracked inner primary or blown rings if its coming out the exhaust i would definitely get it to a shop
Where is it coming from? Before you fork over the dough, make sure you're not overfilling it.
put the drain plug back in.
    Need more info.

Is it ok to put car engine oil to a motorcycle?

is it ok to put car engine oil to a motorcycle? Is it ok to put car engine oil to a motorcycle?
That depends on the motor. If it is a 4 stroke motor you should be alright but if it is a 2 stroke motor than you need special 2 stroke oil. This is because in a 2 stroke the oil gets mixed in with the gas. Some bikes automatically mix it for you but all 2 strokes have it mixed. Is it ok to put car engine oil to a motorcycle?
It's better than no oil. ,but considering motorcycle engines reach much higher temperatures, You might consider making an effort to get the right oil.
i am a new yahoo user ,i sell some product on yahoo .

this is my yahoo store http://www.llpshop168.com ,if i bother you ,i hope you can forgive me ,thank you for your time .i hope you can give me some suggest about my product.
Sure, but I always used synthetic in my bike, whereas I don't in my cars.
its best to run what the bike specs. say in owners manual. also dont run a synthetic oil, will cause clutches to slip.
You can't just use any car oil in a motorcycle.

Look at the back of the bottle. There will be circles that look like a target, if it says ';energy conserving'; put it back. There are friction modifiers in ';energy conserving';oil that will make the clutch on your bike slip and fail.

I've been using car oil in my bikes for many years and miles without a problem.

    M
if u ask a bike shop...they would say no cuz of the clutch that share engine oil. A car transmission is a separate unit so oil might be different.
yes if they are in same level of thickness as 10-30w.

How do i remove excess oil from my motorcycle?

i just change my oil on my sportbike and poured in too much oil. Can you tell me how to remove the excess beside going to a dealer? How do i remove excess oil from my motorcycle?
The oil tank should have a drain plug. If you know how much extra you put in, just drain that much out. If not, drain the whole engine again into a clean container and then add the oil back in.How do i remove excess oil from my motorcycle?
Turkey baster, looks like a big eye dropper. or siphon a little out with a hose, tip the bike,on its side,or take it over in the neighbors yard and start it up with the cap off? Really what ever works for you. Make sure you do it though.
Tip the bike on it's side and let a bit drain out of the fill hole. That is what they do at the dealer. Or drain it into a clean container and refill it.
Look for a Turkey baster - it works best :) If you cannot find one just get a long transparent hose and suck some out...
u can dri the oil again in a clean bucket not all of it just some then put back what u need
siphone some out with a small very clean tube.
